In order to inspire designers and design students to think about anti-theft, we have created briefs that directly and indirectly relate to bag theft. Included are briefs created by Ralph Ball, Jonathan Barratt, Prof. Lorraine Gamman, Ben Hughes, Jackie Piper and Nick Rhodes, all from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. In principle, taking crime reduction into consideration at the design stage can be highly cost effective – in some cases all that may be required is a little extra thought.
